FAQ

Where are you located?

My office is located at the following address:

1655 Fort Myer Drive Suite 350 Arlington, VA 22209

I am two blocks from the Rosslyn metro (the first stop in VA coming from DC on the orange, silver, and blue line). There is also street parking and a garage on the back of the building.

What are your fees?
$175 for a 55-minute individual session
$150 for a 55-minute couples session
Do you take insurance?

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), which means I am considered a covered provider with most insurance companies. I currently participate with CIGNA and CareFirst Blue Cross/Blue Shield, which means I will file the claim for you and accept their approved fee for services.

If I don’t participate with your insurance company, my services may still be covered in full or in part by your health insurance company. Be sure to check with your insurance carrier to understand your benefits.

What are your hours?
Monday, 9:00am – 6:00pm
Wednesday, 9:00am – 7:00pm
Thursday, 9:00am – 7:00pm
Friday, 10:00am – 5:30pm
What is your cancellation policy?

I ask that you cancel no less than 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. Otherwise, you will be charged for the session.

I understand that life can get in the way sometimes, so I allow one “free” late cancellation per person.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes! It is important for us to be sure that I would be a good fit for you… and that I have the experience and expertise to help you with your specific concerns.

We will talk about the outcomes you are looking for and how I may be able to specifically help you achieve those outcomes. If you would be better served in a different setting or with another provider, I would be happy to provide you with helpful referrals.

What about spirituality?

I am accepting and respectful of all religions and spiritual practices, but I do not specifically use them in my therapeutic approach with my patients.

My approach to therapy will reinforce, as appropriate, your religion and spirituality in your journey toward healing.

What do your patients say about you?

Great question. So I asked a few, and here is what they said:

“I have had the pleasure of being in therapy with Mr. Kenney for about six months now, and I can’t say enough how much he has helped me work through an incredibly difficult period of my life. I have always been of the opinion that therapy is an invaluable tool for self-care and management of mental health, but I have not always thought it would be such an important part of my life. I can honestly say that Mr. Kenney’s guidance and treatment has forever changed how I plan to progress through the rest of my life, and I can’t thank him enough for all the good he’s done for me, even in such a short period of time.”

“Finding a therapist who is a right fit is a journey. Bob is the third therapist I have worked with and I feel like I have finally found someone who is unassuming, non judgemental and easy to talk to. Our sessions are often cathartic and leave me with an idea or question that I can apply to my week. He has helped me navigate my deepest insecurities and manage the physical manifestations of my anxiety.”

“I’ve been seeing Bob in person, then virtually, for several months now. Bob is very thoughtful in his approaches during sessions. He remembers the small and big things, and he is ready to push you when needed (especially when you don’t want to be pushed). He motivates you to commit to doing the work, and suggests things to try or read in between sessions. He’s been an essential part of the week during these crazy times, and I’m grateful to have found him!”
